Dim-Out Duette Gable

When looking at reducing light in a room, it’s important to weigh up if you should get regular electric blinds, manual dimout blinds or combine them for the dream duo: electric blackout blinds. There are definitely some spots where a room darkening effect is essential, and making your blinds motorised can make them much easier to control. Our dim-out blinds come in both a single-pleat and honeycomb style; with the Duette® thermal blinds being known for its additional thermal regulation properties. Each dim-out blind has the same increased privacy and room-darkening effect. We do not recommend this fabric for conservatory roof blinds as they can drop in heat due to their thickness, but we offer other specialised conservatory blinds.

Our range of electric blinds also varies, so you can choose what control option suits you best. Whether you want to operate a single lantern roof blind or shade a whole room, we will have an option suitable for you. Our motors have a low voltage and a sleek design so they can fit into any room subtl

Where we recommend installing Electric Blackout Blinds…

Lantern Roofs

Lantern roofs are a great feature for natural light in your home, but if you’re trying to darken your room we recommend dimout blinds. Due to the height of most lantern roofs, they are often more difficult to control without motorisation. Although you can manually guide the blind along the lantern via a pole, as a long-term solution battery-operated blinds are a great investment. Especially if you don’t wish to strain yourself reaching up with a pole or worry about having mains power available. The image below shows a customer who needed electric blackout blinds for their lantern, and so our dim-out fabrics were an ideal solution. While the room would have been darkened even more had the side blinds also been dim-out, this customer most likely chose this fabric due to help reduce glare from the lantern, as well as for the insulation properties of the Duette® lantern roof blinds.

Bifold Doors in a Cinema Room

If you have an entertainment room with bifold doors or large side windows, then dimout blinds are a great solution to reduce glare and darken the room. As bifold doors include many panes of glass, shading your glazing means installing either several smaller blinds or a few large blinds. It’s worth investing in electric blackout blinds so you don’t have to extend large rolls of material manually. Our most popular bifold door blinds are roller blinds and Duette® blinds for bifold doors.

Gable or Unique Windows in a Bedroom

One of the main benefits of motorised blinds that you can use them even when you’re not neat the blind itself; electric blackout blinds are perfect for those times you’d like to shut your blinds without leaving your bed. We also offer a range of smart blinds that can be set up on a timer or opened via voice control. Many people enjoy having a large feature window in their room, but for a good night’s rest bespoke dimout blinds are a lifesaver. This ranged control can be even more effective for floor-to-ceiling blinds for apex-shaped windows due to their extreme height. Especially if you require gable blinds or apex window blinds such as the video below. The premium material and fit achieved may not be cheap, but the difference is worth every penny.
