Roof blinds are a great solution if you have glazing in your ceiling, whether that is a skylight, lantern roof or conservatory. Windows like these are a fabulous source of natural light, but with extra glazing comes extra glare, extreme temperatures and a lack of privacy.
Here at Specialist Blinds, we have over 25 years of experience in conservatory roof blinds, so we have market-leading blind technology that can fit a variety of shapes without drooping or sagging. Not only this, but we pride our blinds on their lasting power.
Cheaper alternatives start looking bad after a few years whereas our blinds are designed to keep looking new for longer. We have blinds that have been fitted for over 10 years that still look good (with proper maintenance and care).
Conservatory Roof Blinds
Our pure™ pleated blind range is designed specifically for unique shapes found in a conservatories and with our expert installation, they can fit snugly beside your glass without sagging and retract to a very thin stack at the edge of your glazing.
Another of our most popular conservatory blinds are the Duette® Thermal Blinds. The honeycomb structure of the Duette® blinds help you regulate the extreme temperatures in a conservatory, by retaining heat in the winter and reflecting it in the summer.
Lantern Roof Blinds
There are essentially two main ways in which you can install lantern roof blinds. You can individually fit them against the pane of glass, like in the conservatory ceiling as pictured above or you can fit blinds that run horizontally along the lantern’s base as featured on our Instagram post.
By installing blinds onto your lantern roof, you can reduce the amount of glare and further control the temperature in your room. The best blinds for controlling the temperature of your room is our Duette® range. Even with larger lantern roofs, we can cover the glazing with only one or two without them sagging since we use a ‘zip’ like system. However, there are cases where support-wires may be necessary.
Skylights and More
We cover many other types of glazing you could find on a ceiling too! For example, we can help you find a solution for a flat roofs or skylights that might be causing you to suffer from too much glare or excess heat from above. Check out our handy guide to skylight blinds for further examples.
Additionally, we can install Velux-style blinds for angled roof windows. As you can see from the photo above, our blinds fit neatly. No matter the angle or shape of the glazing.
Is Motorisation Necessary?
With most of our ceiling blinds, we would recommend automated blinds. Especially if you are controlling many blinds or have very high-ceilings!
We offer a variety of styles so you can choose an option that suits you. Our options include: battery-powered blinds, solar-charged blinds, smart blinds and remote controlled blinds.
