Upgrade your conservatory with Specialist Blinds for a more contemporary look, check out our ideas below.

Having blinds for your conservatory, orangery or glazed extension is important to ensure its insulation in the winter and heat reflection in the summer. However, blinds don’t have to appear like an afterthought. With the right fabric and style, we can elevate your conservatory with modern conservatory blinds that enhance the comfort and look of your room.

Modern Conservatory Roof Blinds

To curate a more contemporary style in your conservatory, you should first ensure you are getting high-quality and well-fit blinds. Our shaped conservatory roof blinds are the best solution for shading conservatory ceilings as they are made specifically for conservatories. When fitted corner-to-corner, these blinds don’t leave any unsightly gaps around the edges of your shaped glazing that standard blind companies might struggle to cover.

At Specialist Blinds, we use market-leading pureaspect™ technology to make triangular window blinds. They are most popularly used in gable-end conservatories and apex windows. We also offer solutions for standard lean-to-conservatory roofs that don’t sag and can last many years.

Ideas for Choosing the Right Fabric

Visually, it’s very important to pick the right fabric for your own personal style so it not only compliments your conservatory but the rest of your home. That can be down to the fabric’s transparency, colour or even the texture of the fabric itself.

Duette® Thermal Blinds

Our Duette® thermal blinds not only look modern but include thermal technology to keep your conservatory warm in the winter and keep your conservatory cool in the summer.

The unique honeycomb structure of the blind acts as an extra layer of insulation; the extra layer reflects heat from the outside and retains heat from the inside.  Our most popular fabric choice is Duette® which we offer in various shades and transparencies.

By choosing a dark shade, you can make your blinds look more intentional and eye-catching. If you would like to keep a light and airy feel to your conservatory you can opt for a light shade of Duette® or pleated blinds that come in a variety of transparencies.

Pinoleum

pure™ Pinoleum blinds are often chosen for their more traditional look. However, we still make our pinoleum blinds with advanced blind technology. The optional Solar Lining helps reduce heat build-up but also improves your conservatory’s heat retention in the winter. The semi-transparent texture of the weave also allows you to see outside whilst still reducing your heat and glare. Additionally, you can still opt for motorisation.

Pleated

As previously mentioned, we designed our pure™ pleated blinds specifically for use in UK conservatories. We can fit our blinds to any shape found in your conservatory much neater than generic blinds would. Due to our blinds’ made-to-measure fit, they fit so neatly against your window beading that they almost blend in as part of the conservatory. We offer motorisation for our pure™ pleated blinds too, as shown in the video above.

Final Thoughts and Ideas…

There are other blind options you could look into… Such as Venetianvision blinds or roller blinds. However, the majority of these are unsuitable for conservatory ceilings so we don’t recommend these. Your conservatory will look more cohesive if you use a similar or the same blind type across your whole room.
