Now that the clocks have gone back, the evenings will be longer and the temperature will be colder. Many people will find hard to keep their conservatory comfortable during the colder months. that any room with areas of large glazing can be uncomfortable to use, and often stop using those rooms entirely until the spring. A lot of people think of blinds as something to use during the warm, summer months. After all, the most common use for blinds is to try and keep the sun out to make the room more comfortable – a problem that is at it’s worst during the summer. 1. Increasing Privacy
When it is dark outside but you have the lights on inside, it can create the “goldfish bowl” effect – essentially meaning that everyone can see in, but you cannot see out. This can even be a problem when you have glazing on a roof, such as in a conservatory or orangery, as any neighbours are able to look down into the room.
Blinds are the ideal solution to this problem. When you want to use your conservatory or extension during a dark evening you can just extend the blinds and add total privacy to the room. When you want to enjoy the views the next day, you can then retract the blinds away completely.
2. Controlling Temperature
Any room with a large area of glazing can start to lose a lot of heat during the autumn and winter. Glass naturally transmits heat, meaning that even with constant heating it can be hard to keep a room like a conservatory warm. Because of this, many people stop using their extensions or conservatories when it’s cold, because they can be so uncomfortable to use. 3. Reducing Glare
