Duette® Blinds for Conservatory Roof and Windows

Blinds are a great way to add style and character to your conservatory. Yet, many are not aware that they work great for several other reasons. We receive a number of reviews from customers via email, our website and Checkatrade – commenting on how our blinds help to:

  • Reduce glare
  • Provide temperature control
  • Improve UV protection

Do Conservatory Blinds Reduce Glare?

A key advantage of conservatory blinds is they help to reduce glare. Glare can be problem in both the summer and winter months. We advise our customers to install blinds for both the roof and side windows. This is because, in the summer months the sun enters the conservatory through the roof windows – for most of the day. Whereas, in the colder months the sun tends to sit a lot lower and comes through the side windows. Glare can be a problem for many, especially if they use their conservatory as a living room. Glare can disrupt customers from watching the television or even using a tablet or smartphone in their conservatory.

Do Conservatory Blinds Work?

Our previous customer Mrs G had our Duette® Pleated Blinds installed for both the conservatory roof and windows. As a result, she experienced a big difference:

‘’They’re amazing and look beautiful and elegant. I doubt that we will retract them very often as the room isn’t noticeably darkened, but we have lost all the annoying glare! We have yet to experience the effect of their help with excessive summer heat and winter heat loss through glass. In short, don’t hesitate, it’s a purchase you’ll love, thanks guys!’’ Mrs G

Do Conservatory Blinds Help with Temperature Control?

Conservatory blinds are great at providing temperature control. Many do not realise that temperature can be a big problem for those with a conservatory. It is no secret that the British weather can be very unpredictable. Therefore, trying to keep a conservatory cool in the boiling heat waves can be very hard.  It can be just as hard to keep it warm and cosy in the recent storms and snow. At Conservatory Blinds Limited we have specifically designed our blinds to help reduce heat and provide insulation in the winter months. We highly recommend three different ranges of blinds for temperature. This includes our pure™ pleated blinds, Duette® pleated blinds and Pinoleum blinds with a solar reflective lining.

A recent customer opted for our pure™ pleated blinds in their conservatory for this exact reason. As a result, they saw a difference with temperature and appearance in their room.

‘’We are extremely pleased with the quality and look of the blinds and these have enhanced the look and helped temperature control in the room.’’ Mrs T

Do Conservatory Blinds provide UV protection?

Yes, Conservatory blinds do help to offer a level of UV protection. Conservatories and glass extensions are exposed to a high degree of sunlight throughout the year. Consequently, this can cause furniture or flooring in the room to discolour. Our blinds offer a solution to this problem, they help to stop direct sunlight from entering the room which in due course reduces UV damage. Yet, when the blinds are retracted, they still let natural light into the room!

Do Conservatory Blinds Work?

We have now lived with our new blinds for several weeks and have benefitted as the sun has been out gloriously so far this year. Had it not been for the blinds the UV degradation to our suite would have been speeded up with the strong sunlight that we have had this year so far.” Mr P
