Duette® Blackout Blinds

  • Overview
  • Product Information
  • Fabrics

Duette® Blackout Blinds can be fitted with hardly any edge-gaps and no cording holes, meaning that as little light as possible into the room.

Duette® Blackout Blinds are available with translucent, opaque and full blackout options, depending upon your shading needs. The fabrics filter the sun, rather than reflect it.

Duette® is mainly suited to very large rectangular blinds. While shaped blinds are possible, irregular shapes require extra rails to fitted within the blinds because the fabric is quite soft and ‘springy’, which means that shaped blinds can normally not be motorised.

The main benefit of Duette® window blinds is that the cords are concealed within the fabric, so there are no visible holes. This also makes them absolutely ideal as blackout blinds using Duette® Oscurax fabric. The ability to fit blinds with hardly any edge-gaps and with no cording holes means that they are often the perfect solution for bedroom blinds or home cinemas.

Duette® Blackout blinds are usually freehanging, operated by a cordlock. We also offer the "safe by design" options of either LiteRise® Pleated Blinds, or SmartCord Duette® Blinds, which have been designed to be totally child safe.

We only normally recommend Duette® Blackout Blinds in conservatories where the roof is not south facing, and where the roof is only made up of large rectangular panes with similar window glazing.

Other considerations are that, whilst standard opaque Duette® is washable, the cellular structure can trap insect debris, making it less practical in some conservatories.
